Backed by a nationwide service network covering 15 regions, BYD Roadside Assistance operates over 200 flatbed tow trucks and 30 service motorcycles (currently serving Metro Manila).
When you contact the hotline, an Assistance Service Coordinator will assess your situation and dispatch the nearest equipped provider saving you the stress of hunting for a reputable towing service or mechanic on the spot.
*Estimated Arrival Time: In typical road and traffic conditions, help usually arrives within 40 to 60 minutes from verification by the Assistance Service Coordinator.
Coverage & Benefits Breakdown
1. Towing & Vehicle Recovery
2. On-Site Minor Repairs
When a problem can be fixed safely on the spot, RSA dispatches on-site assistance (covered up to ₱5,000 per event):
- 12V Battery Boost: Jump-starting the auxiliary battery.
- EV Emergency Charging: Emergency charging up to 20% State of Charge (SoC).
- Flat Tire Assistance: If your vehicle has a punctured tire, RSA will replace it with your vehicle’s serviceable spare tire.
- Locksmith Assistance: If your keys are locked inside the vehicle, RSA can send a locksmith to open the door, subject to company approval. The service covers the locksmith’s labor and travel expenses. If the manufacturer prohibits manual unlocking for security or warranty reasons, the provider will instead tow the vehicle to the nearest repair facility.
- Spare Key Delivery: If you cannot access your vehicle because your keys are locked inside, stolen, or damaged, the provider can collect your existing spare key from your home and bring it to you, subject to company approval. Key protection assistance is covered up to ₱1,000.
- Emergency Fuel Delivery: RSA can arrange delivery of around 3–5 liters of fuel, depending on the available container and gasoline station limits. You’ll need to settle the fuel cost on-site.
- Misfueling Assistance: Support is covered up to ₱1,000.
3. Secondary Towing and Vehicle Transport
RSA can also help arrange secondary towing for a non-drivable vehicle that needs to be moved between locations, such as from a repair shop to a warehouse, another repair facility, an impounding site, or the owner’s residence. This service may be covered up to ₱5,000.
If the vehicle is still drivable but needs to be transported for reasons such as number coding or a scheduling conflict with preventive maintenance, towing can still be arranged at the customer’s expense.
Alternative driver assistance is also available with at least 75 minutes’ advance notice. The cost of this service must be paid directly to the provider before the trip begins.
4. Trip Interruption & Personal Assistance
A vehicle problem away from home can affect more than the car. It can also leave you wondering where to stay or how to continue your journey.
If your vehicle breaks down at least 25 km away from your residence and repairs will take longer than 48 hours, RSA helps you get back on track with one of the following options:
- Hotel Accommodation: Up to 3 days / 2 nights (max ₱2,500/night; cap of ₱5,000 per event).
- Continuing Your Journey: Alternative transportation to your original destination or residence (up to ₱5,000 per event).
- Expense Reimbursement: Coverage for self-arranged alternative transport (up to ₱5,000 per event).
RSA can also help relay urgent messages and coordinate assistance following an accident.
5. Medical & Urgent Assistance
- Ambulance coordination: RSA can arrange transport for an injured customer or passenger to the nearest medical facility. The first ₱3,000 of the ambulance expense may be reimbursed under the program.
- Medical evacuation: This can be arranged upon request, although the resulting cost will be for the customer’s account.
- Repatriation assistance: A reimbursement benefit of up to ₱3,000 is available for the repatriation of mortal remains, subject to applicable program conditions.
What to Prepare When You Call
Having a few details ready will help the coordinator arrange assistance more efficiently:
You or another person responsible for the vehicle must remain at the location while assistance is provided and the vehicle is prepared for towing.
- Your name and contact number
- Vehicle Details: Model, Plate Number, Chassis Number
- Location & Breakdown of Accident: Exact Location and a brief description of what happened.
- Dealership Preference: Preferred BYD dealership and contact person (if available)
The coordinator may also ask if you’ve already spoken with your BYD dealer or service advisor. This helps ensure that the dealership is ready to receive the vehicle.
Once your request has been verified, the coordinator will dispatch the nearest qualified and available service provider. You’ll receive the driver’s name, tow-truck plate number, and estimated time of arrival.
When the provider arrives, a checklist will be prepared to document the vehicle’s condition, which you’ll be asked to review and sign before the vehicle is transported.
Program Eligibility and Quick Rules
- Enrollment and renewal: BYD vehicles sold through authorized BYD dealerships are automatically eligible for Roadside Assistance services for six years from the vehicle’s release date. After that period, customers may purchase a renewal plan directly from an RSA provider.
- Eligible use: Roadside Assistance is for privately used vehicles. Vehicles used for public transportation, transporting merchandise for hire, ambulance service, or media operations with audio, video, or telecommunications equipment are excluded.
- If enrollment cannot be confirmed: The coordinator may still arrange assistance, but you may need to settle the service cost first. If coverage is verified afterward, the applicable reimbursement process will apply.
- Annual event limit: An eligible vehicle can receive assistance for up to three breakdown-related events per year. Accident-related towing does not count toward this limit. Each request remains subject to the applicable benefit limit and service availability.
- Where coverage begins: Vehicle assistance can take effect from your usual place of residence. Personal assistance benefits apply when the breakdown or accident occurs at least 25 kilometers from your residence and the other qualifying conditions are met.
A Few Important Things to Remember
- Cashless assistance on expressways: This may be available on NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, selected sections of SLEX and Skyway, STAR Tollway, NAIAX, CALAX, and C5 South Link, subject to the applicable benefit limit.
- Tolls and additional fees: Toll fees count toward the towing benefit. Amounts beyond the limit, along with road user taxes, village entrance or other access fees, and waiting fees, are for the customer’s account. Waiting fees may be charged at ₱500 per hour.
- Restricted or special locations: Immediate towing zones, private-access locations, and special towing areas may require prior approval or reimbursement. Service may also be limited where safety, security, access, or local regulations prevent a response.
- Call RSA first: Before arranging a separate towing service, contact BYD Roadside Assistance so the coordinator can confirm coverage, check availability, and send the appropriate help.
