When communities in Northern Cebu were struck by the recent earthquake, BYD quickly mobilized to deliver relief and support where it was needed most.
Through the combined efforts of BYD Cars Philippines (a subsidiary of ACMobility), BYD Philippines, and BYD Cebu, teams were dispatched to reach affected areas across Bogo City, San Remigio, Catmon, Daanbantayan, Medellin, Tabogon, and Tabuelan. The initiative was further strengthened by Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI), whose #BrigadangAyala program extended its own assistance to the same communities, reinforcing a shared commitment to help families recover.
A Convoy of Help
Early in the morning, a convoy of 24 BYD vehicles, including the Sealion 6 DM-i, Sealion 5 DM-i, Shark 6 DMO, and Atto 3, set out from Cebu City loaded with bottled water, food, tents, blankets, medicines, and toiletries. The goal was simple: reach as many affected families as possible, as quickly as possible.
Volunteers from the BYD Cebu Owners Group joined the effort, lending their time and vehicles to make sure supplies reached far-flung barangays that needed assistance the most.
Powering Connection Through Technology
Beyond delivering essentials, BYD’s vehicles also played another role. Using the brand’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, the convoy provided temporary electricity to several areas where power had yet to be restored. Residents were able to charge their phones and reach out to family members, allowing them to have meaningful moments of reconnection.

The joint efforts of ACMobility, BYD Cebu, BYD Philippines, and Ayala Foundation show what can be achieved when compassion meets technology. What started as a response to a crisis became a reminder of what BYD stands for: progress that goes beyond roads and vehicles.
By bringing relief, connection, and hope to those affected, BYD continues to live out a simple belief: that true mobility goes beyond transportation. It’s about being there for communities when it matters most.
