CEBU, PHILIPPINES — The nationwide “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” tour has officially arrived in Cebu, marking the kickoff of its Visayas leg following a successful journey across Luzon. The electrified drive is a joint initiative of BYD Cars Philippines, the Department of Tourism (DOT), and ACMobility, aimed at promoting sustainable travel while showcasing the growing viability of electric mobility across the country as the team rediscovers local culture and landmarks throughout the Philippines.
Led by travel content creator Wil Dasovich, the cross-country journey features a nine-vehicle convoy of BYD’s latest NEV models, including the BYD Shark 6 DMO with its rugged off-road platform and the BYD eMAX 7, a fully electric seven-seater MPV. During the Cebu leg, the team held a welcome event at BYD Cebu Central, where the BYD Shark 6 DMO showcased its V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology to power the festivities. Between stops, Wil took the time to explore Cebu’s Michelin Guide restaurants, highlighting the local culinary scene. The initiative also spotlights the expanding Philippine EV Spine Network, powered by ACMobility’s charging infrastructure that enables seamless long-distance electric travel from Pagudpud to General Santos City; from Cebu City, Wil will continue exploring the island before the convoy proceeds to key destinations across the Visayas and eventually heads to Mindanao.
